Frequently Asked Questions
Who is Locksmith Limassol?
Locksmith Limassol is a local locksmith service in Limassol, Cyprus. We help with emergency lockouts (home, apartment and office), car opening, lock changes, lock repairs, security locks and cylinders, including armored doors. We work across Limassol city and the surrounding suburbs and villages, and you can reach us directly on +357 99 624770.
What are your opening hours? Are you open now?
We are open Monday to Saturday, 9:00–18:00. We are closed on Sundays and public holidays. If you call during opening hours, we answer and tell you straight away how fast we can come.
Are you a 24-hour locksmith?
No. We are not a 24/7 locksmith. We work Monday to Saturday, 9:00–18:00. We would rather be honest about our hours than promise night service we can't give.
How much does a locksmith cost in Limassol?
Our minimum call-out charge is from €30 to €50, depending on how far you are from central Limassol. For the furthest villages — Souni, Kantou and Erimi in the west and Moni in the east — it is €60. The call-out includes opening a door that has only been pulled shut (not locked with the key), for example when your keys are left inside. Opening a door that is locked with the key, lock changes, repairs and any materials are charged extra. These prices are a guide: we give you the exact price on the phone once we have your full address and understand the job. See all the areas we serve on our coverage page.
What is included in the call-out charge, and what costs extra?
Included: travel to you and opening a door that has only been pulled shut, for example when you stepped out and the door closed behind you with the keys inside. Extra: opening a door locked with the key, changing or repairing a lock, new cylinders, security locks and any other parts or materials. We explain the cost before we start any extra work.
How fast can an emergency locksmith get to me in Limassol?
For emergency lockouts in central Limassol (city centre, Neapolis, Germasogeia tourist area, up to Omonoia) we arrive within 20 minutes. If we can't make it in 20 minutes, we tell you before we set off. If the wait would be more than 40 minutes, we will honestly suggest you call another locksmith, so you are not left waiting outside. For areas further out, we tell you the expected arrival time when you call.
Which areas of Limassol do you cover?
We cover Limassol city (including the city centre, Neapolis and Omonoia) and these suburbs and villages: Agia Fyla, Agios Athanasios, Agios Tychonas, Akrounda, Armenochori, Asomatos, Ekali, Nea Ekali, Erimi, Fasoula, Finikaria, Germasogeia, Kantou, Kolossi, Mesa Geitonia, Monagrouli, Moni, Moutagiaka, Palodia, Parekklisia, Polemidia, Pyrgos, Souni–Zanakia, Trachoni and Ypsonas. I'm locked out of my house or apartment in Limassol. What should I do?
Call us on +357 99 624770 and tell us your full address and what happened: are the keys inside, lost, or broken in the lock? Is the door only pulled shut, or locked with the key? We tell you the price and how fast we can come. More about our emergency lockout service.
How can I contact you?
The fastest way is to call us on +357 99 624770. You can also reach us on WhatsApp, Viber or Telegram on the same number, or by email. All our contact details are on our contact page. We do not accept anonymous requests: a valid phone number is always required, also on Telegram. No phone number, no service — no exceptions.
What information do you need when I call?
We always need a valid phone number and your full address: street name and number, area, building name (if there is one) and flat number. You can also send your Google Maps location by WhatsApp or SMS, but only as an extra help, never instead of the full address. We keep the address and job details on record for security reasons, and we save your phone number so we can respond faster if you need us again in an emergency.
Can I send photos of my lock or door?
Yes. If the problem is hard to describe on the phone, we ask you to send photos on WhatsApp to +357 99 624770 (the same number you call). This helps us give you a safe and accurate quote before we come.
Will you check that it's really my home before opening the door?
Yes. We ask every customer a few standard questions. If something doesn't add up — for example the answers don't match, or the door is locked and the keys are lost — we ask you to show ID and sign a short responsibility form, and we take a photo of your ID and any other document that shows you live there. We keep these ID records for 3 months and then delete them. This protects you and your home from someone trying to get in who shouldn't.
How do you protect my personal data?
All the information we keep — your address, phone number, job details and, when needed, ID records — is stored safely in line with GDPR. You have the right to ask what information we hold about you and to ask us to delete it. Just call or message us on +357 99 624770. Read our privacy policy.
Can you open my door without damage?
We always try to open the door without damage first. In most lockouts, especially when the door is only pulled shut, there is no damage at all. If drilling is needed, for example with some locked security doors, we tell you before we start and explain the cost of a new cylinder.
I'm locked out of my car in Limassol. Can you help?
Yes, we open locked cars when the keys are left inside or locked in the boot. We do not make, copy or program car keys, and we do not repair car locks.
Do you change locks and cylinders in Limassol?
Yes. We change and install door locks, replace cylinders, and fit security locks and high-security cylinders, including for armored (security) doors. Changing the lock is a good idea after you move into a new home, lose your keys, or after a break-in.
Do you work on armored (security) doors in Limassol?
Yes. Armored doors are one of our main services. We open locked armored doors, repair and replace their locks, and upgrade them with high-security cylinders. We work with the main European brands found in Limassol homes, including CISA, Securemme, Dierre, ATRA and Mottura. See our security locks page.
Can you change the keys of my armored door?
Yes. If you lost your keys, moved into a new home, or don't know who else has a copy, we change the lock's cylinder or core so the old keys no longer work, and you get a new set of keys with it. On many CISA, Securemme, Dierre and Mottura locks this is quick and does not need a whole new lock. We tell you the options and prices for your door before we start.
I lost the keys of my armored door. What can you do?
Call us with your full address. We open the door, without damage whenever possible, and then change the cylinder or core so the lost keys can no longer be used. Because the door is locked and the keys are lost, we also check that you live there (ID and a short responsibility form).
Can you upgrade an old armored door lock to a modern cylinder?
Yes, in most cases. Many older armored doors in Limassol still use long double-bit keys, which are easier to copy and to open. Where the door allows it, we convert the lock to a modern high-security European cylinder with new keys. We check your door and give you the price first.
Do you replace door cylinders?
Yes. We replace euro cylinders on house, apartment, office and shop doors — from affordable, reliable European cylinders to high-security models with protection against drilling, snapping and bumping. Replacing the cylinder is the quickest way to make old or lost keys useless.
Do you open and change locks for shops in Limassol?
Yes. We open, repair and replace locks on shop doors, including shop-front and aluminium doors, glass doors and back doors, and we replace their cylinders. If your shop lock is stuck or you lost the keys before opening time, call us as soon as we open at 9:00.
Can you fix or replace glass door locks and handles?
Yes. We open, repair and replace glass door locks and glass door handle locks in shops, offices and building entrances, and change the cylinders in them.
Do you change office door knobs and handles with locks?
Yes. We open, repair and replace office door knobs and lever handles with locks, and change their cylinders when staff leave or keys are lost, so only the right people can get in.
Can you open or replace a mailbox lock?
Yes. We open locked mailboxes when the key is lost or broken, and replace mailbox locks in apartment buildings and offices.
Can you open locked office cabinets and desk drawers?
Yes. We open locked office cabinets, filing cabinets and desk drawers when the key is lost or broken, and replace their locks so you can use them again.
What quality of locks and cylinders do you use?
We only fit quality European products: no fakes or copies, no cheap Chinese products and no DIY-store brands. We carry several price levels, from simple, affordable but reliable European locks and cylinders up to high-grade, bank-level security. We ask about your budget and your needs, then suggest the best balance of price, quality and reliability in your price range.
Do you repair door locks?
Yes. We repair locks that are stuck, hard to turn, or not locking properly, and locks with a key broken inside. If a repair is not worth it, we tell you and offer a replacement instead.
How can I pay?
You can pay by cash, card (Visa, Mastercard, contactless), Apple Pay, Google Pay, bank transfer or Revolut. We also accept crypto: the stablecoins USDC, USDT and EURC (formerly EUROC), and Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Tron, Zcash and Monero. You get a receipt for every job. See our payment methods.
How can I avoid fake or rogue locksmiths in Limassol?
Choose a locksmith who tells you the price on the phone before coming, has a real local phone number, accepts card payments and gives you a receipt. A good locksmith also asks for your full address and checks that you really live there before opening a locked door. Be careful with "locksmiths" who give no price, only accept cash, push you to drill straight away, or claim to be open 24 hours with no real address. We tell you the price first, accept card and many other payment methods, and give you a receipt for every job.
Which languages do you speak?
We speak Greek, English and Dutch.
